More on staging, my perspective…

My husband was recently surfing the net looking at homes (he loves doing this for fun in his spare time). We were both amazed at some of the photos published on homes for sale. On a very nice listing in Westminster (about $400k), we noticed that just inside a front entry was what could be a beautiful formal dining room. Instead, it was being used as a childs playroom filled with toys. Being a mom, I understand the necessity of having a playspace. But when your home is listed on the market and showing like this, it makes it hard for some buyers to “visualize” the space. Even more, the agent actually posted those photos! Shame on them for first, not coaching the sellers to get their home ready for market, and worst not coaching them on getting their home ready for a great internet presence!

There’s so many great shows and internet videos and sites that will help you get ideas on getting your home ready and staged. Take those ideas and use them. It will dramatically make a difference when your home is listed.

AND most importantly, make sure you choose an agent who will help you with this important process of the home sale. As Realtors, we see lots of homes and can help you through this process. I make sure I walk room by room with my clients BEFORE we list the home or do any photography. Its a must, especially now with alot of competition on the market. You can’t afford not to do it!
